My husband and I are moving from Bend to Beaverton at the end of the month. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for best places to eat, shop, or just any 'must see' places in the area.
Re: Moving to Beaverton...
Shopping: Washington Square Mall, Tanasbourne (depending on where in Beaverton you live), Bridgeport Village, downtown Portland. For groceries we have Fred Meyer, New Seasons, Trader Joes. Are you looking for anything in particular?
Eating: mostly downtown Portland though there are some decent restaurants in Beaverton. There are a few good ones such as Mingo.
must-see places? It depends on what you're looking for. You have access to the Oregon coast in a 1.5 hour drive, 1 hour to Willamette Valley wine country, 1.5-2 hours to Mt. Hood and 1 hour to the Columbia River Gorge.

Thank you for all the great tips on places! I guess I was just looking for some great local spots to check out. I am pretty familiar with the downtown Portland area, but still trying to navigate my way around Beaverton. I know coming from Bend we have a lot of must-see local spots/festivals to check out.
I just need to get out there and go exploring! Just wanted to see if anyone had any advice on places that I should look into. Thank you for all of your suggestions

Here are our favorite places to eat, so far:
Hall Street Grill
Siam Thai
Abhiruchi
Si Senor
There's also a McMenamin's close by, and we're looking forward to trying Wasabi. We haven't found a good Chinese place yet. Or at least one that delivers. I think all of the places I listed above (minus McMen's) can be delivered using d-dish dot com.
We love Si Senor on NW Cornell and Saltzman. For good chinese we like Happy Panda on 185th and Walker. Cedar Hills Crossing has an awesome frozen yogurt shop called Peachwave.
Ooo I love Typhoon! And McMennamin's. We have both of those restaurants here in Bend, so it will be nice to have them there too. Thank you for all of the amazing suggestions.
We are starting to pack everything up and just finishing all of the papers. It will be nice to enjoy the fall up there. Can't wait! Now for the job search....
We recently found this bar that was really cool. Nice people, stiff drinks Maxwells on 185 n of Baseline in Beaverton/Aloha.
Not fancy (clean bathroom) but as far as local dives go this place has been great.
