I have always been very XOXO toward BOA. I have never had any problems with them despite the hundreds of horror stories I have read on MM.
But now their banking policies are really p!ssing me off. For instance, sometimes I use my personal cc for work expenses. AP cuts me a check, I go to deposit it and it takes the bank two days to clear the check which means the funds are unavailable to me during that time. I used to be able to deposit the check, go to my office, and transfer the money to pay the cc and...no big deal. With everything we deposit other than direct deposit, it takes multiple days for the deposits to clear. Now, they claim it is for "me" and to protect "me" but somehow I have a feeling this helps to increase their fees.
The last straw came today when they informed me they were putting a five day hold on the cashier's check the seller gave me for my car. FIVE DAY HOLD. That seems..quite ridiculous to me given that this is not a personal check it is a CASHIER'S CHECK which is guaranteed money. Why does there need to be a hold on a guaranteed check? Again, it is to protect "me" but given I no longer have a car and don't have payment for it due to their stupid hold and the money isn't in the bank earning interest, I feel like I am getting a screw job.
Rant over. For now.
Re: Very frustrated with BOA.
This is good to know!
I HATE BOA. We have always had the same problem with the 5 day hold on DHs extra job checks. It never fails that it takes forever for our checks to be available.
BOA sucks azz. My dad had an account there for awhile, and my parents' home loan was switched to them after Countrywide went under. Needless to say, my parents did a refi with another bank and got out of there. I've heard nothing but crappy things about them since they got to Lawton.
Sucky McSuck.
I too am XOXO about BOA. I have never had any real problems with them...although they did cancel both my cc without notice because they hadn't been used in a few months. I tried using one at Home Depot to get my points on the purchase and it was quite embarrassing being turned down because it was canceled. But what-ev...I have new cards now.
Now as far as the cashier's check is concered...my firend got ripped off with a forged one. I have never seen one so I don't know how easy they are to fake, but she sold her old e-ring for a couple grand and deposited the CC in the bank. The next day the police came to her work to question her about the fake check. She was crazy embarrassed and obviously ripped off. So maybe that is why the bank is holding it for so long...?
