~ringtone for iphone~

as far as i'm concerned, it's a conspiracy!  i'm able to get the ringtone to my phone, but then what?  i'm not given the option to set as default ringtone nor can it be found in my settings under ringtones.  the only place i can find it is in my ipod section.  someone, anyone, please help me!

If you downloaded an actual ringtone from iTunes on your phone, it should be under the ringtones setting. If it's not there, try restarting your phone.

Have you connected your phone to iTunes?

Where did the ringtone come from? If you made it you have to change the extension on it for it to work as a ringtone. If you don't, it'll think it's a normal song.

yes, i downloaded it directly from itunes- it was categorized as an "official" ringtone, too (enter the frustrating part).

I do it all the time and it goes directly under the ringtones section. I would try restarting your phone. Is your software up to date?

Ah, that's frustrating!!! I agree with the other poster to restart your iPhone and see if it fixes it. GL!

Did you just download the song that is authorized to have a ringtone made, maybe? The little bell icon means that song can be converted to a ringtone - at an additional cost of 99 cents. But downloading it doesn't automatically generate the ringtone.

I don't know.  I downloaded a ringtone.  It says "ringtone" on my iPod- I'm assuming this means I'm good.  This process is extremely over my head- what happened to the days of point, click, pay and done!

Is it an iPod or an iPhone with the iPod location that it's storing the ringtone?
