POLL: wake/sleep

on average, what time do you get up? what time do you go to bed?

do you feel that you're getting sufficient sleep?

just curious because i feel like i need a full 8 hours a night and lars usually only gets around 6 and seems fine. i'm a wreck on only 6 hours!

Re: POLL: wake/sleep

  • Get up: 6:15am

    Go to sleep: 11ish pm

No I don't feel very rested...but I am also coming off of working the State Fair and haven't had a day off of work in 16 days...so I just need a break then I'll catch up.

  • I'm usually in bed by 10:30 but read til 11 (or until I get sleepy which goes maybe 15 minutes either direction).

    I get up at 6:15.

By the end of the week, I feel like I'm dragging a little but then catch up on the weekend.

  • I get up at 6:00 am every morning and usually go to bed any time from 10:30-11:30 (depending on how late I have to work).  I am always tired.  I need 8 hours to feel rested too.
  • Job 1: get up 7:30

Job 2: get up anywhere between 5:30 and 6:30am

Either way I usually go to bed at 10 and read or watch t.v until 11.

I am dragging today though, couldn't fall asleep until after 1am  and got up at 6:15. I can usually function better on less sleep versus more, but these nights of not being able to sleep are really catching up to me!

  • Generally I go to bed around 11 or so and wake up around 8 or so.

I have to get 8 hours or I feel like hell the next day.  Hubby can get around 5 or 6 and be totally fine.

     Maybe it's a guy thing?

  • I get up at 5:30 am and I usually go to bed anywhere between 10:30 and 12:00. It depends on how hard I've worked out, and how busy I am if its sufficient amount of sleep. I think in general I could always use more but I've trained my body to function on less...

  • I wake up at 5 am. I try and go to bed between 8-9 but lately my baby has been terrible to put to bed. Last night she didn't go to sleep till 11:15. I am so so exhausted
  • Get up 5:30 am

Go to bed 10:00- 10:30 pm

I usually feel pretty well rested. I have noticed when I work out I sleep better which in turn makes me feel better through out the day.

  • I go to be around 11p.

I get up sometime around 8a or 9a, unless it's Monday. Then I wake up at 6:15a (my one early morning at work).

This is the one perk to only working ~10 hours a week. I am very rarely tired.

  • on average, what time do you get up? what time do you go to bed? I get up at 5:30, and I usually go to bed anytime from 10-11.

do you feel that you're getting sufficient sleep? Definitely not.  It doesn't help that I have a newborn that usually wakes me up at least once a night either!

  • Maybe it is a guy thing - my H also seems fine on less sleep. I REALLY like to get 8 hours. Typically, I get up around 6:00. I want to be in bed by 10:00, but it's usually more like 10:30ish. If I'm planning an early workout, then I might be up by 5:00.

My schedule doesn't really allow for extra sleep on the weekends, so I try to get decent sleep most nights:)

  • I go to bed at 9. I get up at 4:30 AM. But I swear I always way up at 3:30 AM and can't get back to sleep.

So in reality I'm running on a little over 6 hours of sleep. No. Definitely not enough to get me through 12-hour shifts. On my days off following work shifs, I average 10-11 hours straight and I'm really messed up.

Perhaps I'm not qualified to be answering this poll now that I think about it!

  • Wake: 7am weekdays

    Sleep: 10-10:30pm Weekdays

Since I am pregnant and I have cut out all caffeine, I do tend to feel a bit more tired than I was pre-pregnancy, but I am making a baby, so I am sure I am going to be tired.

  • I get up between 7:10am and 7:40am, depends on if my hair needs to be washed that morning.

I go to bed between 9pm and 10pm.  I need a solid 9hrs of sleep to feel great, 8hrs will usually work too.  Anything less than 8 makes me a total bear.

I will say that in the summer I stay up in bed reading for a bit longer, depending on how good the book is.  In the winter though I'm usually out like a light by 10pm.

  • on average, what time do you get up? Between 5:30-6:30 depending on if I go to the gym before work or not.

what time do you go to bed? 10:30-11:30

do you feel that you're getting sufficient sleep?  Sometimes.  I have insomnia and some nights I only sleep from 3am-6:30am.  Before I got meds for it I was averaging about 2 hours of sleep a night for about 60 days.  It sucked.

  • Go to bed: 10-10:30

    Get up: 5:15am

I do best when I make it to bed by 10. (I get up early to work out before work. I'd love to sleep that extra hour but if I don't work out in the morning I know it won't get done.)  Normally I am fine all day but I have have my days where I am napping in car at lunch, lol.

  • on average, what time do you get up? I'm usually up for the day at 8:30am. But unfortunately since I have a little girl who likes to get up multiple times at night I'm usually "up" every 3 hours (on a good night).

what time do you go to bed? around 11:30pm

do you feel that you're getting sufficient sleep?  Definitely not. I'm exhausted all the time. I think it's because I haven't probably slept longer than a 3-4 hour stretch in 6 months. I'm constantly falling asleep and then getting woke up throughout the night because dd is a terrible sleeper. I never feel rested.

  • I get up at 6:30 during the week and go to be around 10:30.  Most days it's enough, but sometimes I'm still tired.  I definitely need at least 8 hours or I don't feel rested.  I love sleeping in on the weekends.

  • wow -I'm an odd duck, I guess. DH too!

We are night owls and are up most nights until 1 - sometimes 1:30. We keep saying we need to get to bed earlier, but I'll be cleaning up the kitchen or paying bills and DH will be replying to emails or practicing guitar and before we know it, it is 1 am!  DH works afternoons/evenings (when people take music lessons) so he doesn't get home until 9-ish some nights, then we have dinner and spend time together. By the time all that is done, it is late!

Thankfully our work schedules allow us to sleep in a bit more in the morning - I sleep until 8-ish and DH doesn't work until noon at the earliest, so he can sleep in plenty. He's a bear if he doesn't get at least 8 hours but I can usually do pretty well with 5 or 6 . . . which is good because lately even though we go to bed super late, I don't fall alseep for a while and then our cat wakes us (me!) up at 6 am and keeps us (me!) awake.  Not fun when I only just fell asleep at 3 am!

I could always use more sleep and on the weekends I sleep for 12-14 hours straight - but I've always been able to function pretty well with what little I get.

  • Get up: 8am usually - but 7:00 since I'm working different hours until we move.

Go to sleep: Usually around 11 or 12.

I definitely need around 8 hours of sleep, or I will be dragging all day long!  I have hypothyroidism and I'm tired all the time as it is!

  • I usually go to bed around 12 and wake up at 8:30 or 9. I have t get up at 7 tomorrow and am NOT looking forward to it.
  • Awake: Anywhere from 7am to 9am, depending on what I'm doing that morning

    Asleep: Between 11pm and midnight
