are there some toronto bumpies in the house?
um, i know it's early, but i'm just wondering how i even go about looking for daycare. if there are wait lists (which i expect), i feel like i should be investigating things NOW.
so, where do i start? any good resources besides looking in my local listings?
Re: are there some toronto bumpies in the house?
You're smart to start exploring your options early. If you're looking at daycare centres, you're right, the wait lists are pretty long. The few I contacted had wait lists of anywhere from 9 to 18 months. (Eighteen months? Seriously??) If you're willing to consider a home-based daycare, the wait times are probably going to be much shorter.
I tried using the City of Toronto Child Care Finder, but it wasn't much help for what I was looking for.
Good luck!
