Re: resume advice-long
Please, please please read this!!! It is a publication put out by my local university, it will be a life-saver! It has examples, advice, everything you could ever want about resumes, cover letters, interviews. I was going to type advice but this will be better. Its written by people who critique resumes and help people prepare for interviewing, ect for their career.

I read this blog for info

Keep in mind that right now the market is insane. Instead of receiving 100 or 150 applicants per posting, companies are receiving 500. Don't get discouraged, it's not you. Make sure your cover letters aren't just job descriptions or just reiterating what you have on your resume. State Why you want that position or why you are a good fit for the company etc.
I LOVE this blog. She's very blunt and to the point, but gives great advice.
Good Luck!
