We adopted a 7 month old lab from a shelter. He's the best, but is definately in need of training! We haven't heard good things about the training facility by our home. Does anyone have any reccomendations for dog training facilities in or near the Northwest Suburbs?
Thanks!
Re: Pet Training Recs?
I am not sure where you are looking, but about 5 years ago we used a place called Paw Law in Bartlett (I think it was Bartlett). It was awful. Horrid. Wouldn't rec it.
What vet do you use? We use Carol Stream Animal Hospital and LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Marty. Call and ask the girls up front. There is one in the area they always recommend, and I can't think of the name!
I adopted my dog as well. He had some really bad habits to break as he was already a year old. Petsmart in Lincoln Park (Elston and Logan) is the best! I think they're reasonably priced and it was a lot of fun. He can now sit, 'leave it' and does plenty of tricks. The jumping took a while to break, but "sit" seems to work when overly excited.
Keep in mind that the training will be a long process if you don't practice what you've learned in class with your pup.
