HR Block Tax Course

I was thinking about signing up and taking the HR Block Tax Course.  Has anyone done it?  Were you able to get a job there afterwards?  I would really like a part time/seasonal position to supplement my income from my full time job.

I do not know about the H&R block course. It may only qualify you to work at H&R Block.  From what I have heard about the H&R block course it only teaches you how to do the tax returns in software . . . basically data entry.  I would consider looking into a local technical college and see if they offer an income tax preparation certificate or at least income tax classes.  That may make you a better candidate for a broader range of public accounting firms.

It's $260.  Looks like it's 3 days a week for about 8 weeks.  Thought I would try it.

If you know any accounting or tax you can test out of it too. I thought about getting a job there this coming season for extra money. I worked in public accounting for 2 years so hoping to get out of it. I am sure that what they teach you isn't anything too technical. It is probably how to do basic returns and using their software.
