Where were you 9 years ago today?

I was in college.  Waking up to 90210 reruns (of course) when my roommate came in and told me to turn it on a news channel.  I asked which one, she said ANY ONE!

The rest of the day was just watching the TV and going from class to class where all anyone did was watch TV.

Re: Where were you 9 years ago today?

  • I was in 8th grade (don't laugh at me for being little!) and I was in my advanced computers class. I remember just watching the news the rest of the day in class and that night there were no planes in the air.

  • I was a junior in high school... We were outside for marching band practice, so we didn't really know what had happened until after class.  There were a few younger students behind me in the hallway talking about how "cool" it was that the building (it was just one at that time) was destroyed by an airplane.  A teacher overheard them and suspended them.
  • DH and I were on a little getaway to Mackinaw. We watched some of it on TV in our hotel room, then we headed over to the island where we saw everyone crowded around the TV's in any bar we walked by.
  • I was at work.  We didn't have a tv so all the info we had came from patients coming in and what we heard on radio or from husbands calling.

As patients came in, our reception area turned into a little prayer area.  It was a scary and sad day.
