Morning - Weekend Recap

Well we had the condo inspection and things aren't looking good unfortunately.  All of the windows in the condo need to be replaced.  And since this is technically a short sale, no one knows if the seller or the Virginia Housing Authority will negotiate money off to replace the windows.  Also as we were reading through the HOA information, we realized that the community doesn't allow dogs over 30 lbs.  This has never been disclosed in any of the condos information that my parents have looked at in that neighborhood.  It's sort of bittersweet b/c they don't have Caramel anymore, but she was 60lbs and that would have been a deal breaker.

So we'll see what happens this week once they write up the addendum after the inspection.  I don't think it's worth for my parents to still pay the same price if there are big things to fix.

Re: Morning - Weekend Recap

  • That sucks =(

The first house we made an offer on was a short sale and it was a total disaster. But I also think our realtor dropped the ball somewhere. The owner of the house was able to buy it back, which is technically a sheriff's auction or whatever they call it. Ugh, it was such an awesome house too.

Update us later in the week, I'm curious to see what the addendum does for them!

  • Sorry the Inspection didn't go so great.  Hopefully they will be able to strike a deal with the windows needing to be replaced.

My weekend was okay.  Friday night was stressful.  My sister's ex-bf called her and was having some major issues.  She was really scared about him doing something stupid - he was talking like he would never see her again and told her what cemetary to bury him in.  Very unusual talk for him.  She managed to get him to go over and they talked.  They've stayed in touch all weekend.  I guess he got into some major money issues on top of his emotional issues (and coming off cocaine isn't helping)  and it all boils down to today.  I have no idea what happens or anything.

Saturday was the reintegration breifing.  It wasn't too bad.  A 1 hour group marriage counseling session, then 90 minutes to walk around the vendors that were set up (medical insurance, some counseling groups that specialize in the military, Veterans groups).  Then we had lunch, and another 1 hour presentation.  We were done around 1:30.

Saturday evening we went to dinner with DHs family for his sister's birthday.  Had a few drinks.  I stopped drinking after 2 drinks because I was driving and we were 30 minutes from home.  Good thing I did because on the way home there was a DUI checkpoint.  I got through no problem.

Yesterday we just hung around the house relaxing.

  • Friday we just hung around the apartment.

Saturday was busy. We went out to my parents and they watch the munchkin for about two hours for us. We went to BJs and Toys R Us to look for birthday gifts for Xander. We then went to Sesame, but the water was freezing so we just walked around the park. Then we had dinner with my parents. It was a really good day. Andrew and I enjoyed our alone time, even though it was a short time.

Sunday we had a lazy day. Watched a movie, did some laundry and cleaned up some. I also baked pumpkin bread and apple cobbler.

  • Ours was good! We went and took Campbell for 6 month pictures yesterday and they came out really good. We got them on a disk so I'll post them tomorrow at work.?

I also successfully made baby food! I made sweet potatoes, plums and peaches. We gave him some store bought sweet potatoes all weekend and he liked it a lot and today we gave him green beans and he seemed to like those too!?
