Need kid activities im SFV area

I have family friends visiting next weekend with a 6 year old and a 2 year old (both girls) and I am looking for kid friendly, relatively cheap activities. We live in the Camarillo/Moorpark/Thousand Oaks/Simi Valley area but wouldn't mind driving a short distance if it's a good activity.

We are going to the beach one of the days so I need more ideas, help please!!! :)

  • HI! I am your neighbor in Moorpark! Underwood Farms in Moorpark is really fun and the harvest festival starts next weekend! Also, Griffith Park is fun, they have Travel Town with train rides and horse rides as well. There is a great park in Thousand Oaks behind the Library off of Janss Road. It is really beautiful with trails and lots of play areas. It is a great place to picnic. The Lakes in Thousand Oaks is fun too. Have fun whatever you do!
  • I second Underwood Farms and Griffith Park.  I haven't been to the others, but will put them on our list of to-dos...they sound great!

http://www.lacity.org/rap/dos/parks/griffithpk/mgr.htm check out the "attractions" on the left hand side.  We especially like making an afternoon of going to Travel Town & LA Live Steamers to ride the small-scale model trains.

also heard of but haven't visited an indor play area called jungle land http://www.jungleland.info/

    have fun!!!

  • I'm in Camarillo, and I totally agree with Griffith Park and Underwood Family Farms! Golf 'n Stuff in Ventura is always a fun place to go as well--DD loves to mini-golf (at 4... not sure how a 2-year-old would do with it).
