As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Can getting cable/internet BE more frustrating?!?!?!

I'm nesting from the BB again, so pardon formatting/ lack of reply - it's painfully slow.

So UPC sent a guy today (mind you, it took THREE WEEKS to fget THIS appt) and we STILL don't have internet. Apparently he's just the guy who hooks up the cables. The actual cable boxGmodem need to be ordered from the company.

WHO fcuking sends an installation guy without the acrtual equipment needed foe installation?!?

And now who knows how long ir will take to get the boxes.

God I hate it here sometimes.

  • Yep. I don't understand why this always takes so long. We got a cable box in the mail a few days before the guy showed up. The guy shows up only for us to discover that though we were told our apartment was cable ready, it wasn't. The previous owners wanted all traces of cable box removed from the apartment (WHO DOES THAT?). So we had to reschedule for 2 or 3 weeks later. 

    Anyway, this guy shows up and never touches whatever we received in the mail. He does have all of the parts. Once it's set up, he leaves. With the mess he created (boxes, wires, and instructions booklet) all over our living room floor. The box we got in the mail of equipment? It's sitting there not connected to anything. I know the moment I try to get rid of it, I'll find out that it's needed for something and if I don't have it I'll have to wait 2 years to get a new one. 

  • Ugh, that is seriously ridiculous!  I hope they get it sorted out soon...I miss you on here!

  • I think the thing that annoys me most is it was a three week wait for NOTHING to change. I have exactly the same 23 Dutch stations only now my bill is from UPC instead of KPN. ARGH!!!
  • I feel ya hon.  I'm right in the middle of my own internet/cable debacle.  Israelis love taking there sweet ass time getting back to you.  I need it now, not a week from now, not 2 weeks from now, not whenever you feel you can get out to my apartment.  Now.

  • the upc box shows up via tnt within 2 days. I should know. I have received over a dozen now.

    Apparently they firmly believe my box is evil and even though our entire neighborhood is out, it must be my box,. And I need yet another new one. Cuz it couldn't possibly mean the main switch for the whole area is out. Again.

    My fav upc moment is when they billed us for stuff we didn't get yet, told us that was because there were a few points in their system that needed a button pushed to sort it out, and they were going to push the first button now. Oh, but we needed to call back in 3 weeks to let the second person know to push their button otherwise they won't know to do it. Sorry about the billing, but since we ordered it for X date to start they have to bill us from X date. Cuz it was our fault we didn't call and tell them to push the magic computer button after we placed the order.

    UPC dudes don't like it when you say "are you even listening to yourself?!?! Do you really think that makes sense?"  And they also don't like it when you laugh hysterically and then say "ok now how about letting me know what is going to happen in the real world, cuz right now you are just talking crazy talk...."
