XP: Question for diva cup users
I am trying it out for the first time today with backup but keep feeling like it may be leaking. I check and everything seems fine. Will I know the feeling if it really leaks? Is this a normal feeling with the diva cup?
Re: XP: Question for diva cup users
I always push mine in, kinda feel it open then pull it back out to check the seal. As you pull you'll kinda feel the seal. If it comes out easy push it back up and then try to rotate it as you push it back up. That works for me. Then I kinda pull it down and if there is resistance then it's sealed. (again for me).
Someone on this board gave me the BEST advice to dump in the shower in the AM. It's SO much eaiser.
I've never leaked and I've been using it for about 4 months.
I could always "feel" tampons so with the diva cup if the seal is there and I can't feel it, it's in right for me. (I don't know if that's the case for everyone)
Really? I've been doing pad + tampon b/c of leaks, and the tampon may as well not have been there for all the good it did (not). I'm intrigued by this no-backup idea...

I've been using the cup for 3 or 4 years, and the only times I've leaked were when I left in too long on an insanely heavy day (thanks, IUD!) or when I didn't make sure those tiny holes weren't blocked. It's happened maybe three times. I never use backup.
Wow. That alone would be worth it to me. Thanks

Indeed. The Diva is by far the best invention I've purchased in years. I don't know how I got through my period without it. I only have to empty it once a day (I probably have a lighter flow than most women), it takes a minute maybe to empty, wash, and re-insert, and I've never had a leak with no backups. I hike, camp, garden, and do yoga with it in. No leaks. No tampons that carry risk of TSS. No disposable products. No pads that feel like diapers. The Diva is the Best.Idea.EVER.
I do agree that menstrual cups are wonderful ideas. I use a Lunette. The Diva wasn't a great fit for me, too much suction I think.
I wear backup on my heavy days. I haven't had a leak in months, but my flow is so heavy that there'll be stuff on the outside of the cup after I insert it, if that makes sense. I've tried wiping it after it's in, but it doesn't get everything. I haven't figured out how to fix that, so I continue to wear a cloth pad to prevent stains on my underwear.
