What's for dinner this week? (yes, I am still alive)

Hello! Gosh, I never post over here since my life is filled with diapers and baby talk! lol

What is everyone making for dinner this week? I am running out of ideas and bored of my current standbys!

Hope everyone is well! I miss you labbie and moxy....and everyone else too!

Re: What's for dinner this week? (yes, I am still alive)

  • it's funny you posted this... I was just thinking of posting a weekly menu post on the bump! I need to get back into meal planning, and thought it would help!

Tonight: Just me and the little guy, so we are having leftover (homemade) sauce and meatballs

Wed: I am making some type of Thai dish (to celebrate the season finale of Top Chef in Singapore!) I'm about to google some recipes.

    Thurs: Turkey chili and cornbread

Friday: some type of fish... depending on what looks good at Wegmans. Probably w/ cous cous or rice and a veggie

Saturday: Chicken Marsala, mashed potatoes and salad

Sunday: not sure... maybe just lots of snacks during the football game

  • Last night I baked a whole chicken, so we are having taco salads with the leftovers.

Weds - poached salmon, roasted cauliflour with balsamic, couscous.

Thurs - turkey burgers, tossed salad

Friday - going out to dinner with mom

Saturday - taking DH out for his birthday to Cafe Cappriccio

Sunday - white chicken chili, brown rice, corn.

  • I cook on Sunday mornings since I am still working at the bar a few nights. This week I made Tex Mex soup from Hannaford's Organic section. It is really good and spicy! I also made a tortilla lasanga, with ground turkey, salsa, cheese, and taco chips. I plan to make chicken and mashed potatoes either tonight or Sunday. We are camping this weekend so we will have burgers and kabobs, salads, chips, etc. Good idea on this post. I am always at a loss when it is dinner time!

  • I made a calzone over the weekend.  Last night was hot roastbeef sandwhiches with baked potatoes.  Tonight is taco casserole.  And I'll probably do raviolis this week too.  You know....all healthy stuff  ;o)

  • Hey there June!

Well, we're not very good at planning but we are in a CSA so have a ton of produce to use up this week.

The only thing we've made so far this week is escarole soup with sausage (basically greens n beans, but more broth) and it came out really yummy. With Wegs Rosemary/Olive Oil bread.

Tonight we're cooking out-  burgers on the grill (veggie burger for DH, regular one or a salmon burger for me) with grilled zucchini and foil packets with potatoes, onions, peppers and herbs on the side

Wednesday- pierogies (Mrs T's) with fresh sauteed peppers, onions, mushrooms with olive oil and parmesan

    Thursday- bowtie pasta with pesto

Friday- either leftovers or Boboli pizza on the grill

    Saturday- pizza with family

  • I can't believe you guys plan your food for the week.  I wish I could do that.  I usually just go to the store and get a few things and then forget other things and have to go back over and over.  Not to mention, I don't cook a ton during the week either usually.

Last night I made a chicken stir fry - love the leftovers from it for lunches!

Tonight chicken lasagna is in the oven.

Tomorrow is my open house so probably just leftovers or going out with the other teachers for dinner, not sure yet.

Thursday will probably be leftovers since I won't eat before I go to Zumba and it'll be a late dinner.

Friday - probably out to eat or order out.

  • Monday: Marinated venison, summer squash

    We just ordered pizza tonight.

Wednesday: Chicken Picatta, brown rice, green beans

    Thursday: Philly cheese steaks, salad

Friday: Something quick since we're grocery shopping after work, maybe leftover pizza

Saturday: DH is making me homemade mac & cheese b/c I won the football pool this week (whoever wins gets to gets to pick a recipe and the other person has to make it each week)

    DD1: 3/31/10 DD2: 9/7/11
  • Tonight -- homemade mac & cheese, homemade apple crisp

Tomorrow -- slow cooker pulled pork sandwiches

    After that, who knows!
