Good Tennis Shoes?

Okay, Just asking if anyone knows of a REALLY good, supportive, but cute tennis shoe. I've had 6 surgeries on my knee and need REALLY good shoes. Especially since I am starting a job this week as a CNA, in which I'll be on my feet all day, and doing a lot of lifting. Any suggestions? :)

Re: Good Tennis Shoes?

  • I never even thought about it until now... but everyone calls them tennis shoes, and hardly anyone actually plays tennis in them. Huh.
  • lol yeah, I've thought about that a lot. Idk what else I'd call them? haha

  • You might consider getting fitted for a good pair of shoes.  They base it off of how you carry your weight, etc.

Referring to sneakers as "tennis shoes" is a regional thing.  I know people in the West do it, but generally not in the Northeast. Whenever I hear people say it, I always think, "Gee, I didn't know you played tennis."

I think you should go to an orthodic (sp?) shoe store like Good Feet or such. You could also check out a running shoe store (even though you won't use them for running).  You could also cross post on H&F.

  • I'd go to a running store and talk to them about needing extra support, etc.  They will watch you walk and find the shoe that is best for you.

Alternatively, you could try danskos.  I love mine and they are super supportive.
