My FI and I have a cleaning lady who comes once a month to give our house a top to bottom cleaning. She uses pretty traditional cleaning products, but we want her to start using chemical free products. She cleans everything toilets, sinks, tubs, tile, wood floors etc...
Anyone have suggestions as to what we can purchase and/or make for her to use for those particular needs and still get things clean?
Re: Cleaning
I don't have much experience with EF products, but I have 2 that are my absolute favorite.
#1...Seventh Generation's Lavender Floral and Mint dishwashing liquid. I know, I know...not what you're looking for, but it's my favorite.
#2...Earth Friendly Products Parsley Plus All Surface Cleaner.
When my husband and I lived on our own we had an ant problem in the kitchen. Not many on the floor, but they would make their way to the countertop. Not only does this stuff smell great (I love the smell), but it cleans great and it did kill the ants off. It even prevented them from wanting to get on the countertop.
You could try that if you like, I use it for everything.
We provide a mix of Mrs. Meyers and Method products for bath, polishing wood, glass cleaner, and hardwood floor, and use the Greenworks all-purpose cleaner for everything else. Plain baking soda for carpet treatment before vaccuuming (we have dogs). Method also makes a good silver/chrome polisher for knobs, etc., and they have a granite treatment that I've never tried. Some of the product have refills, I wish more did.
Our local Target has a better selection than other big-box stores, but availability seems to vary depending on what store I go to.
Also, provide a lot of washcloth-sized (or slightly bigger) thick rags. Our service used paper towels up the yin-yang, but after I put a box of old dishtowels, cut up towels, etc. with the cleaning supplies they stopped that nonsense.
