This year, we starting having a cleaning lady come to our house once a month. This is the first time we've done this - how do you tip/recognize the holidays? What is appropriate? I was thinking of baked goods but didn't want to appear cheap. Is that acceptable? If you leave extra in cash or buy a gift card, how much is appropriate for someone who comes once a month.
What do you do for other services that you get periodically - hair, nails, etc? Anything, nothing?
Thanks!
Re: Holiday Tipping/Bonus ?
Give cash/gift cards. IMO there are already enough baked goods during the holiday season. People making them with their family, for parties, etc. Also to make cookies is less than $10 and I'd rather have the $10.
How much to give? My friends give their cleaning lady $50 holiday bonus and she comes once a month.
I tip my hair stylist every time and just give a little extra tip if I see her before/after the holidays.
