Weather in SC - sunny??

I have a friend that wants to move to Charleston - we live in the Virgin Islands and have sunny days about 95% of year. Is Charleston a sunny city? She's worried about too many grey days - she's original from Seattle and moved to the VI to get away from the grey days!

Re: Weather in SC - sunny??

  • Hmm because both Seattle and SC are in the US so that must make the weather the same?

I imagine the weather here is not much different from VI.

  • no. SC is a generally sunny state....
  • Um no....b/c she wants to make sure she doesn't go back to the same kind of weather she originally escaped. I'm from Indiana and the weather there is grey from Oct to April generally.

From the average temps we found online, the weather is actually quite different than the VI but we didn't find any sunny vs grey day info online so we thought we'd ask here.

  • It is sunny more often than not.

  • It's pretty sunny here but it DOES get cold, it DOES occasionally snow, and it does rain and get cloudy from time to time.

In general though it's way sunnier than the weather in Seattle
