Nelson's Apple Farm?

All right ladies, any one have any thoughts on today's CrowdCut for Nelson's Apple Farm? It's a bit of drive, but I've actually never been to an orchard so I have no prior affiliations. Is the deal even that good of a deal?

Re: Nelson's Apple Farm?

  • We've gone to Emma Krumbee's in Belle Plaine before, and I *think* we had to pay admission to the apple part, plus then we wanted to walk around and check out the scarecrows that people submitted for the contest, check out different games, the petting zoo etc.. and I think the petting zoo stuff was $10-$12 for DH and I. You're getting to pick apples, go on a wagon ride, check out the corn maze, go to the petting zoo and play putt putt golf for $13.

I think that's a really good deal. Check out Emma Krumbee's website for comparison. It's blocked here at work so I can't help ya out there.

eta: the link wasn't working. I think the website is just emmakrumbees.com

  • I looked at this one.  I live 50 miles North so it is a deal breaker for me.  It sounded like alot of fun though and a pretty alright deal (although if the normal cost is double, that sounds high).  If you would like to do all the stuff listed, it is a good deal.  If you just want to pick apples, I would say you could find it cheaper and closer elsewhere.

  • I've never been to an orchard that charges admission. Sponsel's in Jordan doesn't charge admission, you only pay for what you pick/buy.
