Benihana or Ichiban?

We are planning a night out with some friends that will be in town this weekend and would love to take them to a Japanese Steak house.  We have been to Ichiban quite a few times but have never been to Benihana.  Which do you girls prefer?  Price wise, are they about the same?

Re: Benihana or Ichiban?

  • Personally, I prefer Ichiban. Prices are comparable, but I think the food is a little better at Ichiban. I also like the atmosphere better, it feels more intimate. Benihana is just a huge open room and I find myself watching the "performances" at other tables.

  • Benihana! I love their shrimp sauce! They have a great deal if it's your birthday month you can sign up on their website (under Chef's table) for a free entree up to $30.

  • Ichiban's has MUCH better food IMO.  Prices are about the same.

ETA: Ichiban's fried rice is AMAZING!

My husband went to Benihaha last month - he is not a pickey eater but man or man did he gripe about Benihana's.

  • another vote for ichiban. i agree that the atmosphere and food are both much better.
