My hydrangeas have what I think is the Cercospora fungus. The leaves on 3 of my 4 plants have spots that look like this:
We planted the hydrangeas this past spring, but this summer was particularly hot which was causing them to wilt, so we watered frequently which I think probably caused the fungus.
I've researched through google how to treat Cercospora, but has anyone on here dealt with this and have any tips? Since we just planted these this year, we could rip them out and start fresh, but I'd rather not since they have grown a bit already and seem to be getting established.
Re: Hydrangea Fungus
I don't know where you live, but typically, late season foliar diseases of this type are left untreated because the foliage will soon drop anyway. Just be diligent with sanitation, and take preventive precautions next year.
And be careful with diagnosis. Lots of things look alike when it comes to symptoms. It's best to have a lab analysis before proceeding with any treatments.
