  • I like Abby's Lane because of the free shipping.  On smaller orders you can really save money.  Though I'm frugal (read: cheap) so I love Spot's Corner on Hyena Cart (they're used though sometimes you can get new diapers, too).  I don't have a baby yet, but my sick obsession with cloth diapers has led me to have a full supply already (and then some).  Of course, getting them as review items (I use them with my nephew, too) and from friends who's kids have potty trained have helped.  :)

As for wipes, well, this is a great store.  She's out of stock right now but I hear that as soon as she stops being lazy and get's off the couch and actually starts sewing again she'll have some new designs.  Hehe.  Look at the sales for examples.

personally we use regular wipes, the Lansinoh brand for breastfed babies. They aren't very expensive and I rip them in half when I use them, unless I need a full one for a poopy diaper.

  • i just use regular wipes. my favorite brand are the kirkland wipes from costco. people use the cloth wipes because some people find it easier just to throw all of it into the wetbag or dirty diaper pail, and others are just being environmentally conscious. it's on my to do list to get some wipes and do it at home, but i'll never stop buying my beloved costco wipes

No there aren't usually different types of wipes, but BF baby poop can be a little more acidic so these have lanolin in them (the same thing you put on your nipples to heal them).

We tried huggies but they made Lucy's bottom red, so we switched to these and they are so gentle that it is all we use.

They just don't have any chemicals in them.

That is really cool they make wipes like that, for those little baby bums that are sensitive...

  • I use all cloth in my home.  They are cheaper.  You pay, say, $30 in the beginning and then you never have to buy wipes again!  Then you can buy larger wipes (unPaper Towels) or a few more sets of wipes that you use for non-potty issues (like cleaning little baby faces, messes, even scrubbing dishes and counter tops!).

I also like them because you can control what you soak your wipes in.  There's a great recipe for an essential oils cloth wipe formula out there that smells FANTASTIC!  Anyway, in my opinion, anywhere you can control the amount of chemicals your baby comes in contact with is one less chemical your baby has to deal with.  Read the label on wipes (if they even have to list this stuff) and look up what each ingredient is and decide for yourself.

  • My sister makes customized cloth diapers.  She doesn't have a lot of listings on her site, but can make them up quick it requested! Of course I am biased but they are all super cute:)
