Nervous

So I offered to help out with the religious ed at my church because they were still in need to teachers. I'm teaching one of the 5th grade classes - by my self! - and I'm nervous about it!! I mean, I want to do it and help out but I'm scared because I just finished up my RCIA (conversion) classes in the spring so I'm still new to it all as well. I'm hoping that between the mini lesson plan provided to us and the teachers edition of the book, I won't have too many problems. I dunno, I just hope the kids like me and have fun learning about stuff. My first class is next week! Eeek!

you'll be fine!!! you might even be the best person for the job because you are new to it so you can see it from their perspective better. and the stuff is definitely more fresh in your mind than someone who learned all of that when they were 10 years old. i think you'll be awesome!!!

Try not to worry about it!  I am sure you will do fine.  Luckily, it's a kids class so you don't have to go in deep in details, at least I would assume that.  And, on a different note, you mentioned you just did RCIA.  Is this a Catholic church?  I only ask because DH is Catholic and I think I might eventually want to do RCIA with the church though I am not ready yet to take that step!

i totally agree with graceful meadows.  i think you'd be a great teacher for this.  and if you're feeling overwhelmed, nervous, just say a prayer and I'm sure you'll find your way.

I completely second what gracefulmeadows and msrgrant said, you will be great!  I think that it's really cool that you're willing to teach the class.  I bet the kids will love you!  Let us know how it goes
