Decided to make roast chicken last night for dinner, so got that ready and in the oven. Plus put on a pot w/wild rice; figuring by the time I take the dog for a run and get back, it should mostly be done. DH was on the computer, so I told him, when the pot boils - turn it to low, cover it, and press the timer on. That's all he had to do.
I get back w/the dog and check on dinner. The rice looked like there was lots of liquid left, and I was puzzled; it should be nearly done. DH left the pot boiling too long and the liquid boiled off, so he made a new pot of rice. Sigh [eyeroll too] I think he was a bit embarrassed.
On top of dinner, DH made cookies, all by himself (which I think he learned a few things) and I made poblano chicken salad to have for lunches. I used mexican marinated chicken so it's pretty spicy. DH usually hates chicken salad, but I thought he would like this version.
Everything was yummy, and DH better not complain there's no food to eat...
Re: Busy food night!
That all sounds quite yummy!!

And boo to DH forgetting the first rice, but yay for cookies!
