Ok, so in follow-up to last week's BOTB conversation, is anyone else on here totally obsessed with baby names?
Even though we're not going to start trying for a couple more years, the subject keeps coming up between DH and I, and it's so much fun to think of names. (I am also crazy about all those baby naming Web sites, like the baby name wizard and the baby naming tool on the bump). It seems kind of silly to start thinking about it early, but I can't help it. LOL
Also, for those of you who have children: if you chose favorite names way before you ever were pregnant, did you stick with those names or did you end up changing your mind? Just curious.

Re: Baby Names!
Girls - Abbey Lyn, Julie Anne
Boys - Samuel (Sam) James, Maxwell (Max) haven't thought of a middle name yet
No kids yet...lol...but ready with names!!
When we were pregnant, we could not come to an agreement on names. So what ended up happening was Eric picked the first name and I picked the middle name. For our second, I picked the first name and Eric picked the Middle name.
We ended up with Robert (Robbie) Dohnvoan and Aiden Andrew.
I think after a couple long conversations we're pretty much in agreement on a boy's name, but DH does *not* like my first choice of girl's name (and won't be persuaded to change his mind), so we're kind of up in the air about girls names. We have a few that we're considering but they all have their pluses and minuses.
The middle name's easy though because we have a family name we want to use for our first-born that will work for a boy or girl.
I do kind of wonder though if I'll change my mind when I see him or her for the first time. I guess that's what nicknames are for, though.
I like the name Aiden. My husband and I both like a lot of Celtic names.
Diane --- My DH and I have been talking A LOT about baby names lately! (prob has something to do with me having BOTB).... that is so funny you should ask b/c i swear in the last three weeks that is all we've talked about - i've even talked to his mom and my mom about it too!
Lane&Carter'sMom --- Carter is my #1 pick for a boy's name .... with Max as a middle name (after my grandfather - Max)... but my husband is not 100% convinced yet.... so I'm trying to come up with names i like better, but nothing i come up with is as good (and DH doesnt like any of those any better anyway)....
We are in 100% agreement on a girl's first name though :-)
So DIane, yo uare NOT alone!
I've always been fascinated by names in general so it's a topic that always come up in conversation with us. I love Celtic names too (specifically Welsh names like Dylan, Carys, Rhiannon, Morgan, etc.).
I know a lot of people who feel that it's easier to decide on a name once the baby is born and you can actually see their face. My parents flip flopped on names constantly with my sister and I. My sister was almost a Bridgette but at the very last minute, my mom decided that Kaitlin was a pretty name too and the nurse commented that she did look more like a Kaitlin so that's what broke the tie (and I definitely have to agree with the nurse... Bridgette wouldn't have fit her at all! lol).

Its funny because my son is 4, and when we named him we knew NO other Carters. And now we hear it all the time. I've only met one other Lane though!
Too funny! I think all the name talk must definitely be a side effect of BOTB. LOL
Well...I stuck with Madison Jane because I really like the names/nickname that came out of it. Uhhmmm....I heard "Madison" from the movie "What Lies Beneath" (the girl that Harrison Ford killed) and I liked it. Yeah, it's morbid. But I really liked the nickname Maddy. Jane is my middle name, my Aunt's first name, my great-Aunt's first name...
Zachary James was easy to agree upon. Paul and I both liked Zachary/Zach and it flows well with our last name. James was my Dad's first name.
If we had a girl, we liked Amelia Anne. Amelia was cute with Mia as a nickname, and Anne for my sister's middle name.
We've had names picked out for a long time! I don't know that we'd stick with them though....
In my house my Dad, Mom and my brother's names all started with "M" and I was the only "N." Since I married a "M" we decided that the boys names will start with "M" and the girls with "N." The girls name were tougher to decide. This is what we came up with (we're pretty common"
Boys:
Manuel (the 3rd), Mike (not Michael), Matt (not Matthew)
Girls:
Nadia (my fav) and Natalie
(I'm open to more girls names starting with "N")
(We plan to have 3, we just gave ourselves choices...lol)
