Naughty/Nice Bridal Shower ideas

We are throwing a bridal shower with a Naughty/Nice theme.  We havn't done much of anything yet.  We are still in the brainstorming stage.  Just trying to get some ideas together. I don't want to be tacky, but are there any ideas to share out there?  Anyone blog about this or know of any?

TIA

Anyone can be cool, but awesome takes practice!

Re: Naughty/Nice Bridal Shower ideas

  • My friends threw me a surprise one when I got married! Here's what they did:

    (1) It was suggested to guests that, if they bought gifts to go with the theme, they should do the following: wrap naughty gifts in brown paper bags or plain wrapping and wrap nice gifts normal. Then, the gifts were tagged with characters from pop culture, one naughty and one nice (examples: Edward (Naughty) & Bella (Nice), Barney Stinson (Naughty) & Ted Mosby (Nice), Ursulla Bouffay (Naughty) & Phoebe Bouffay (Nice)). I had to match the pairs before I could open the gifts. This worked great for me because I'm a pop culture nut :P

    (2) We played the following games: Don't Say Wedding (everyone had safety pins that had a heart/love charm attached), Match Game (famous love couples - fictional), TP Wedding Dress, Mystery Box (everyone thought it would be something "naughty" that they had to wear, but it ended up being a "nice" corsage), and a "Guess How Many" with hershey kisses in a vase.

    (3) Decor was all red and black -- lots of red roses. The prize/gift bags were black with red and black tissue paper.

    (4) Food -- not really themed...they did a sangria that was called "Pink Panties Punch" (strawberries and white wine). They had heavy apps and a strawberry spinach salad.

    (5) Favors -- everyone got a martini glass that had a little organza bag inside with candy (all wrapped in red, gold, or silver paper) and a red votive candle.

  • Thanks for the input SBS0628!

I'm thinking black lace and pink feathers for a color scheme/decor.

I was wondering...what did your invites say/look like?

What types of naughty gifts did you receive?  Did you get a lot from your registries?

    Were you embarrassed at all?

  • Black and pink would be super cute.

The invites were an Evite. All my bridesmaids were OOT and made it a surprise, so it was really hard for them to get addresses of my local friends without me knowing (but they did have everyone's e-mail). I didn't see it, but I know it explained the game with the matching.

Everyone who came brought a naughty gift and a nice gift. Naughty gifts were all over the place -- lingeire, games, massage oils, tequila (she also bought me margarita glasses from my registry as my "nice" gift). The most creative was white Hanes t-shirts with small notches cut in with directions that said "rip here" or "tear it off!" written around them since (as my friend said) "Your husband will want to rip your clothes off, but you don't want him ripping the good stuff!" The most shocking was red and black lace crotchless panties that I got from my friend who is a pre-school teacher (I just didn't think she had it in her!). The nice gifts varied. Quite a few were from my registries, but others were off registry -- things like books, picture frames, etc.

I wasn't embarassed at all, but I think that's because this shower was only my closest girlfriends. There were my four bridesmaids, ten guests + me, and these are girls who I would tell my deepest, darkest secrets too. If it had been my "regular" bridal shower, I would have been MORTIFIED opening all of that in front of my grandmothers or mom's friends or conservative aunts or whatever. But that's just me! Some people wouldn't care. This shower was much more "Bachelorette Party Part 1" (even though my bach party was months later) as opposed to traditional bridal shower.

  • -Get every guest to bring a pair of underwear in the brides size that best represents themselves. hang all the underwear without the bride seeing on a string hanging like a clothes hanger in the room and have the bride guess who's underwear belongs to who. At the end she can keep all of them to wear for her H.  you can have it so that if she guesses wrong she has to drink and if she guesses right the person who bought it has to drink or something.

-For mine my MOH made the invites, she mainly just did them red and black/white. made sure she put that it was a lingerie theme and she put my size on the invite as well so that people would know what size to get me.  I got everything from sexy lingerie to handcuffs and little vibrators.  I really wasn't embarrassed at all, it was a riot opening everything and hearing the hoots and hollars from all of the girls.
