Hi y'all! I am meeting my DH in San Diego tomorrow (he has been there all week) for a mini romantic getaway. We are stay at Solamar in the Gaslamp District but from there we would love recommendations for dinner, local sites, fun times in general. We though about doing the zoo and we are doing surf lessons tomorrow afternoon and Sunday seeing the Chargers play but aside from that we are open. Would y'all mind suggesting things for us (we are 33/28 if that helps, and we have 2 kids that we are not taking with us :-) )
Re: Mini Vacation in SD
Cafe Sevilla is fun.
I've never stood in the line myself, but Bobby Flay claims the "best breakfast he's EVER eaten" is at Cafe 222. The line can be up to three hours long on the weekend, though. But sometimes, you can get in and out in ten minutes...it's kind of a crap shoot. The line is just always REALLY long when I go.
The Zoo is located in Balboa Park, so I'd recommend hitting up a couple of the museums as well. If you can get there Sunday (don't know what time the Chargers play this weekend...), the International Houses are open from 12-4, which is really cool.
