help please

we just moved into a new house so with that comes a new vacuum. i need reviews on one that picks up pet hair, we have a pit bull who sheds like crazy and also a long haired cat and a bird so the hair is everywhere. I do not want to get a dyson because i think they are overrated. Any one with any suggestions.

I've heard good things about the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser (like pp mentioned) but I've also heard that they're still not as good as a Dyson.

Just out of curiousity, have you used a Dyson?  I'm just wondering how you came to the conclusion that they're overrated?  I've heard of a (very) few people not liking it but I've had mine for over 4 years and it's been worth every penny I paid.  I love it and everyone else that I personally know who has one loves theirs as well.  You're right to your opinion, I was just curious why you felt that way.

For a cheaper vacuum we have a Bissell Powerforce - I think it was maybe $50 or less at Wal-Mart ... We have two bunny rabbits and they are currently in 'shedding season' and its been working great!  It also works good picking up their hay that they spill on the carpet.
