Hey Phoenix! I don't know if you remember me - I was on here a few weeks ago asking for Tucson hotel recs for this weekend because I'm going to the Iowa/Arizona game.
Thanks for the previous help, and now I'm wondering if you all have any restaurant recs? Someone suggested The Hungry Fox for breakfast in my previous post and I thought, Well, how nice of her to share that - I wonder if anyone else has a favorite place?
Thank you!!
Re: Tucson restaurant recs?
If you want really good (Chicago style) pizza, Rocco's is amazing! It is on Broadway, east of Campbell. That is not crazy far from U of A. Mama's pizza is also really good (it's further from the U of A though). It is near Speedway and Swan. Both are cute little restaurants that you can dine in, and the food is awesome!
My favorite steak place is Daisy Mae's (more casual environment though). They are on Anklam, just past Greasewood.
If you are looking for an AWESOME soup and sandwich place, you need to go to Bison Witches. It is on 4th Ave. It gets really busy though and it's not very big, so it's sometimes better to go during off times. It's pretty casual (and it's also a bar).
My husband recommends Cafe Poca Cosa for Mexican. It's downtown (which isn't super far from the U of A).
Um... that's all I can think of right now. If I think of more, I'll come back.
Ahh I dream about their chile relleno!! I have yet to find one as good up here.
We also like the Cup Cafe at Hotel Congress and Cafe Poca Cosa
Similar experience the one time I went down there except with a monsoon and hailstorm. Never want to go there again.
And isn't there a Tucson Nest Board?
yes, but I hear it is slow... well slower then ours anyways
