s/o taking the CPA exam

I am living over seas right now, and really want to take the exam.  Problem being that I have to return stateside to sit.  I'd like to do it in one or two pops if possible to minimize having to travel back and forth too many times.  Any tips or pointers or suggestions.

Would it be feasible to study for two sections then sit for two at the same time?

My previous boss was German.  He came over the US for 3 weeks to do some last minute studying and to take all four parts within those 3 weeks.  He ended up passing all four parts.  I don't really know any of the specifics, but at least I know it can be done!  GL!!

Hi I am "studying" for my exam now. I work for a public accounting firm and if you are honest with yourself and your study habits you can and will pass it on the first time, this has been my downfall not taking my studying seriously but the friends that i have that have passed on the first shot have followed this pattern: read the book cover to cover thoroughly the first time and take notes make sure you understand the concepts before you move on to the next page section etc. Take your practice exams you should be scorng about 70%-75% your first run. For your sencond run skim the entire book cover to cover and only spend extra time on concepts that you feel shaky on, take the practice tests and you should be scoring 75%-85%. The third time you go through it go quickly and only stop to re empasizxe anything you still feel weak on. You should be getting close to 100% on your practice exams by this time. Use cpareviewforfree.com if you find that you have started "memorizing" the questions in your study materials. It is a general consensus here that Audit is the easiest section so i would pair Audit up with whichever section you feel is your weakest. I finished taking the exam last December and passed all four parts on the first try.  However, I was able to spread out my sections over a year and a half and that took some seriously dedicated studying.  I feel that if you really study and know the material extremely well, then you should be fine taking more than one section at a time.  If you don't feel that confident, then I wouldn't even try a section until you feel ready.  Like PP said, you should be getting at least 75% on your practice tests before you even try to take a section.  Since you are travelling over seas on top of having to pay for the materials and the exam fees, you want to be as ready as possible. 

Another tip, it seems that Financial is the hardest section so you may want to attempt that one first. If you get it under your belt than the others shouldn't be as difficult.  You have to keep in mind that once you pass a section, you have 18 months to pass the other parts or you lose them.  I'd hate to see you pass an "easy" section first and then lose it because you are having a hard time with one of the others.

Yes, you can pass if you sit for more than one section at a time. As I mentioned in a previous post, prior to the test being computerized, you had to sit for all 4 sections at the same time AND you had to score a minimum of 50 on non-passing sections to pass the sections you scored over 75.

Only you know how you study, so you will have to tailor your studying habits to make sure you have the correct knowledge. PP are correct, you should be scoring at least 75% on practice tests. AND make sure you do the practice tests, the CPA exam tests you on your knowledge but it is also written to trick you and make sure you are paying attention to what the questions are asking.

I passed all four parts at the same time when the exam was pencil and paper. I took Becker Convisor and did everything they told me to do - Becker became my Boyfriend.  The flashcards were awesome and the practice tests were very similar to the real exam.  I ended up scoring high 90s on all of the tests so I definitely studied a bit too much but it is definitely do able to take two sections at one time.
