C&P from H&F - OMG

I liked these pants at Ann Taylor, usually I'm a 4 there?but they only had 2s, so I thought I'd try them but doubted they'd fit.? Well they did, that's the good news, but the sad news is that as pleased as I was I couldn't help thinking this may be the only year I'll ever be able to wear them.? We're talking about TTC within the year and I always hear women say even if you lose all the weight your body has just changed so much you'll never be the same size.? Is that true?? Even if I work my but off I may never be a 2 again?
OMG. ?I'm so sorry for you. ?Such problems!!?

Re: C&P from H&F - OMG
Is that the one good thing about being fat? That I don't have anxiety about my body changing after I have a baby? lol!
BB- how are you doing with spark people? I feel way off the WW wagon when school started. I'm planning on going back this week. No, I should say I will go back this week!
I'm going to give this a big old roll of the eyes.?
You're TALKING about TTC within the year? So you're not pregnant yet, you've still got potentially a year before you even START TTC, and just starting TTC does not mean that you immediately get pregnant. And even if you DO immediately get pregnant, you do not immediately get a giant belly. Most women can wear their pre-pregnancy clothes for several months.?
So seriously. Get real.?
pville, thanks for asking! ?I'm doing really well right now with SP. ?I've lost 30.4 pounds as of Saturday!
And I believe you can totally get back to your size after a baby. ?I think if it freaks you out that badly, maybe it's not baby time yet??
AHHHHHHHH! That sucks. For me, anyway.
And oh yeah, they also run short. So THERE! ::sour grapes::
Wow, bunny! Congrats! That's awesome!
meh - its an understandable concern. If I was gonna be buyin Anne Taylor priced clothes I would want them to fit for more than a year too! I always figure though, that your cute pre-pg clothes are motivation to get your baby weight off, kwim?
That is really fantastic! You must feel so good.
I am trying to focus on losing weight myself, so I think I need to start joining your check ins here on this board. What have you been focusing on? Just eating better? Do you have a good exercise routine that you've been doing?
it's not so much weight as that your hips are really never the same again.
I'm not anywhere near a size 2, not by a longshot.
I got back to my PP weight, and several of my pants still didn't fit... pregnancy makes your hips wider, and even if you're the same on the scale, you may not fit in the same clothes unless you actually weigh less than PP.
I am the 99%.
I have not yet ventured into motherhood but this is what my sister and other friends also encountered.,
Ok, if none of my pre-pg clothes fit post-pg, I am going to be pissed. Not because I'm vain, but because I have a ton of clothes, and I will be very sad if I have to chuck them all!
And Ann Taylor does have vanity sizing. I just bought a dress from there in a size 4, and I'm really not *that* small. I don't know how really petite women find clothes without shopping in the juniors department.
I don't really get this. Do you mean your hip bones spread, or your body is just depositing fat here more and its more stubborn from removing it from the area?
I feel like I've experienced something similar from being on BCP.
Thanks, ladies!!
ESF, I'm using Spark People which has me eat around 1200-1550 calories (carbs, protein & fat requirements as well). ?I try to work out 3-4 times a week, but it seems to be mostly about the eating, as I had a bad week where I didn't really work out at all and still lost. ??
That's awesome! Go bunnybean, go bunnybean, go bunnybean!
Damn... I am so screwed.
Geez, aren't there a lot of people on H&F trying to lose weight? Way to be sensitive, AnneTaylorFan2.
And congrats again, bb! Awesome progress. It seems like just yesterday that you first started your healthy eating/workign out plan... and 30 lbs already?!!! Nice.
Great. 'Cause my hips aren't wide enough already. Yeesh.
Also, yay bunny!!! Way to go!
I think a weight loss goal is different from a size goal. She seems to have size conceit here, which is rather silly. I want to lose a total of 150 pounds. If by the time I'm right near that goal, I'm sure I'll be slightly upset that I can't get the last 5 off either. I don't see a big problem with that.
It's the fact that she's married to the size 2; she's actually sad that having a baby may change her size, even if all the weight is gone. That's something adults have to accept when they decide to have babies, and they have to be reasonably okay with it. I'm saying, maybe it's not time to TTC if they thought is so "very sad."
Holy freaking judgmental, Batman!
Unless you are one of the lucky few, your body will not be the same. It sucks. One of the many things about pregnancy and bearing children that sucks. To acknowledge this sucks and to be bummed about it is normal.
To have a little vanity about a size - so? She's not allowed a little vanity? Sheesh.
And for the big-hipped ladies out there - mine appear to be the same, or at least I can wear my old jeans/pants, I haven't measured or anything. So there is hope! I think this is much more of an issue for our skinny-hipped sisters.
Maybe it's something about having been overweight; you don't sweat the small stuff, like some slightly wider hips.
Whateva, she can be upset if she wants, and I can think she's a little melodramatic. ??
Bunny,
You know I love ya, but I think I have to agree with SBP on this one.
I think we're reading her response a little too literally. I happen to be one of those "skinny-hipped" people, and trust me, the thought has crossed my mind more than once that when FI and I decide it's time to start a family, my wardrobe will have to undergo a complete overhaul. And for someone who has only recently discovered the joys of being reasonably well-dressed and has started investing in nice pieces, the fact that I'm going to have to throw this stuff out does make me kinda sad. Not sad in the "screw having a baby, I want to be a size X forever!" way, but sad in a "but I like my current wardrobe ::le sigh::" kinda way.
I think we should cut the girl some slack. Picking on someone for being concerned about possible weight gain and body shape changes when they are thin is just as bad as picking on someone for worrying about weight gain and body shape changes when they are heavy.
Can't we all just get along?
TTT,
Again, I think we're reading her too literally. I don't think she's actually upset about this ONE pair of pants. I think this one pair of pants just happened to make something go "click" in her head about her body changing during pregnancy, and that sent her into, "awww - my stuff's not going to fit after babies.
Like I said, I've definitely thought about the fact that I'm going to have to get rid of a lot of things after motherhood (actually probably everything, I'm thin-hipped, and the women in my family suffer from crazy breast enlargement during pregnancy that doesn't go away - so neither pants nor shirts will probably fit afterwars). That doesn't mean I'm devastated by it, or that I'm rueing the day we decide to start a family; it just makes me a little bit sad that I've spent some time investing in a nice wardrobe with classic pieces, and I'm going to have to start all over again.
jmo, though.
