Anyone have a cleaning schedule they are willing to share? Any pros & cons on adapting a cleaning routine?
Thanks for sharing!
Re: Cleaning Schedule
I'll answer...maybe this will give me inspiration to get off my butt and start working on my list for today! (As is obvious from my list, I have cats.
)
Daily - Morning
Breakfast dishes
Feed cats
Spray shower
Pack lunches
Make bed
Daily - Evening
Feed cat, wipe tray, change water
One load of laundry
Sort mail
Water plants (as needed)
Scoop kitty litter
Sweep floor
Dishes (lunch & dinner)
Wipe counter & stove
Clean sink & change kitchen towels
Take out trash, recycling, compost
Clean bathroom
Prep coffee & tomorrow's lunches
Weekly
Dust
Mop
Change sheets
Change towels
Change cat dishes
Yard work
De-fur bed, couch, chairs, etc.
And then on a five-week cycle, I tackle different "zones" of the house for deep cleaning: Front Porch & Dining Room, Kitchen, Bathroom, Laundry & Den, Bedroom, and Living Room. This is the more in-depth stuff...scrubbing the shower, washing out trash cans, cleaning the oven, etc. If you're interested, I'll post those lists, too, but this was getting kind of long so I'll stop here for now.
Thanks for sharing!
Do you post this somewhere so you remember or is it memorized by now?

By the end of a long work day, I think my brain tries to forget what cleaning I have to do...I probably have it memorized, but my desire to sit on the couch and Nest overcomes me if I don't have it written down somewhere.
I have an app on my iPhone called HomeRoutine. It's really helpful because I just set my phone on the kitchen counter when we get home from work, and DH and I can both refer to the list and check off the tasks we've done.
Other methods I've used in the past were putting my lists in clear page protectors and then checking them off using overhead markers, or using a computer program that could repeat tasks on a set schedule and printing out each day's to do list (I can't remember the name of the program...I think it was Get it Done or Get Things Done...something like that).
LOVE IT!
Something like this is exactly what I need. Have you ever tried setting something daily? - Example:
Monday - Floors
Tuesday- Bathroom
Wend- Dust
Ect...with daily maintenance of other chores? Right now I tend to just do what I have to get by during the week (dishes, toys, garbage), but then spend all Saturday stressed about cleaning the house - I'm over it! I want to spend my weekend (and the rest of my life) in a clean house!
You ladies would really love this website!!! It's awesome, this lady teaches you how to get organized and do the things around your house!
Check it out!

Mon: Full cleaning of the house (upstairs/down)...dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wash down counters/sinks/tubs/showers, clean out microwave, wipe down windows (inside), etc.
Tues: Finish up anything not done from Mon. and do other things as needed....clean base boards, wipe down vents, scuff marks off of walls, dust blinds, etc. It's also my laundry day.
Wed: Yard work...mow the lawn, trim bushes (as needed), clean front porch (as needed), pick up yard (we have a lot of trees and lose branches often), etc. I also vacuum if it's needed.
Thurs: I run errands and do my grocery shopping. I'll finish up anything that didn't get done earlier in the week as well.
Fri: Free Day to do whatever I want! I usually run the vacuum again as well (especially if I didn't on Wed.).
On a daily basis, I clean up messes, wipe down counters (bathroom/kitchen) when I'm done, pick up (after animals and FI), do the dishes (as needed), etc.
My schedule - here. My advice would be to find something that works for your schedule and try to do a little every day.
