Recommend your Desktop Computer
Hi Gals,
My desktop died right after all my DIY Wedding projects (I'm at least thankful for that)
Went out this past weekend to buy a new computer and then I stopped myself because I was really digging the Macs.
Any thoughts on the issue?
Thanks!
Re: Recommend your Desktop Computer
I haven't used a Mac since the days of the green screen monitors, so I've got nothing to say about that. As far as PC's go, though, our Dell desktop has done us good, for many years. It sure as hell could use an upgrade now, but we've had it for a long time and its still going strong. I'd definitely recommend it.
There are so many choices out there now, it is so confusing. Good luck finding one you like!
It really depends on your personal preferences and needs. Macs are great these days, although I dont' know much about the desktop versions- mostly the laptops. But PCs are equally as good. You just need to get yourself what you need and not spend more on things you aren't going to use.
I am always around (via my DH's expertise) to help you configure a system to meet your needs so that you don't overspend. Generally, it is better to build a system than to buy a prepackaged one, but with that said, you can sometimes find a good deal on them. Usually, though, it's online and not in a brick and mortar store. As long as you are okay with that (and who wouldn't be, it's not like you take the thing for a test drive beforehand anyway), you should be able to do well.
PS- just in case you didn't know, you can use Microsoft products on a Mac. Some people get put off by the idea of a completely new interface and programming set, but you can use MS office and even Windows on a Mac if you so desire.
GL to you !
I'm a mac girl myself. I have an iMac that DH bought for me for Christmas. I work full time at a graphic design/ advertisting firm and am going for a certificate in graphic design, so a mac was a must for me. I find it easier to work on a desktop instead of a laptop when doing design work. I actually do wedding invitations and such on the side (although I'm taking a break right now) and I have loved the iMac. Even though the screen is huge, the computer itself doesn't take up all that much room...which is fantastic. Feel free to email me (link in siggy) if you have any questions.
