Blah

I had to get two cavities filled this morning.  My mouth feels so puffy and I can't speak because of the Novocain! Drool, everywhere.

How's everyone else been doing?  It's been super dead around these parts.

Re: Blah

  • hai! hope you feel better soon!! i hate novocain! it took over 12 hours for it to wear off when i had my wisdom teeth out.

it has been super dead! :(

i'm ok. wedding 1 is over. 2 left! i'm loving the cooler weather and pumped for fall!

  • Ugh feel better. My day is blah too. I'm not sure why. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow... maybe that's why I'm blah.

  • Dentists are definitely blah.  It wore off now, but since my tongue was numb too, I didn't realize that I had been biting down on it for three hours.  It hurts, but I'm totally laughing at myself for that.

  • Ooooo, dental work is not for me. Thank goodness I have really good teeth.

Anyways, I know I haven't been much of a contributor to the board, but have been really busy with studying and working. Also, been trying to keep track of what's happening with my grandpa lately. He had a triple bypass a couple weeks ago and now is showing some signs of congestive heart failure. On top of that, he has decreased kidney function. I hope he pulls through, he's my last grandparent left.

And, where did the summer go? Looked at the calendar and notice the first day of fall is on Wednesday.

  • ughh when I read the tittle of this post, I thought "ughh thats how I feel".

Work has been sooo exhausting, its an emotional roller coaster. One day I love it, and the next day, I wish I was back at my old school.

DH's grandmother is starting to "lose" it, and I just found out that she called me spoiled. that hasn't been making me feel too good. however, DH keeps reminding me that she's getting old, and she's definitely not one to talk because she hasn't had to lift a finger her whole life, and barely knows what things cost because she doesn't have to.

Also, we keep finding dogs that we want to adopt, but the rescues have been slow with taking them down from the websites. its soo hard to get excited about a dog only to find out someone else got to them first.

...off to search for some more rescue pups!

  • Yeah, I haven't been contributing a whole lot recently. My days have gotten slammed with school (6 weeks down, 8 to go!) so before I know it it's been 2 weeks and I haven't been on...

I'm nursing a chronic running injury right now and hoping that my foot/ankle holds out through this half marathon in a month. It hurts a little to walk, and I can run a few miles on it, but I went out for 10 last night and it was throbbing and swollen when I came back. I'm too stubborn to go to a doc because I know they're going to tell me to rest it and there's no time in my training for that.

Sandra - ugh that doesn't sound like fun. Thankfully my teeth are really strong and I haven't ever had a cavity. I'm pretty much a wimp when anything in my mouth hurts. I can bite my tongue and complain about it for two days lol. But I also eat all the time, so it greatly interferes with my day!

nvanhelden - T&P about your granddad! I'm so sorry you're having to watch him go through that.

Alise - I hope your job starts getting better! New adjustments are always hard. And I wouldn't let what your H's grandma said get you down - we are spoiled compared to a few generations ago. You work, you coach, you keep a house neat and cook for your husband - as far as I'm concerned, you're a keeper!

Jrsy - wanna send some of the fall weather down here to me?! I went running yesterday at 6 pm and it was *still* 96! I'm missing my MD weather right about now. Plus, there are no trees changing color, which is my favorite part about fall (aside from the delicious fall food!)

T&P for him.  I know how hard it is to lose your last grandparent.  I grew up with only my maternal grandmother, but she was awesome enough to be all four.  But within the past year her memory has really gone down hill.  She calls my mother and just cries because she can't remember anything.  The other day she didn't remember that my mother had been to her house to see her.  It's getting worse and she refuses to move to any kind of assisted living so my uncle (her son) was going to move in with her to make sure she remembers to eat & take her meds (she forgets several times a week) and help her out around the house, but he's been dragging his feet.  :/

  • Feel better panda!  T&P for your grandma panda!  And @nvanhelden T&P for your grandpa!

I haven't been on the computer for personal reasons lately...between teaching 18 credits between three colleges and taking 18 credits as a student again (I went back to get my 2nd B.A. after a B.A. and MFA...before a Ph.D) and running my graphic design/photography business,  I haven't had much personal time.  Things are starting to calm down a bit, but I have a ton of personal projects going on too!  Ah what is down time? :p

  • I have been busy with school as usual. All of the projects that were assigned a few weeks...certain parts of them are actually due soon so now I have a lot of stuff to do. We also having been looking at houses for the past two months. Only recently have we really been looking though. It is really frustrating...there are so many short sales! We do not want any part of that or bank owned, is it too much to ask that you actually buy a house the old fashioned way  with an actual person that owns the house?. We have seen a few that we like but I want to love the house that we buy even if it does not have everything that we are looking for.

nvanhelden - sorry to hear that your grandpa is not feeling well, my thoughts and prayers are with you :)

  • I've really got nothing going on, no excuse for why I'm never here anymore. I've still had no luck finding work, and am starting to think maybe that's for the better. If I got a job now I'd work for a few months, then take maternity leave, and DH and I still haven't decided how soon after the baby gets here I'd go back to work, so maybe this is for the better for now. That's really just about all thats going on.

Sounds like you ladies all have really full plates. I hope things balance out for you all. Nvanhelden - T&Ps for your grandpa. I can't imagine how difficullt that must be for you.
