Bring the _bitches BACK!!!
Thanks to Wendy for her "What happened to the Skinny B's" post, I have decided to try to bring back the group!
For those of you thinking, "what the heck are the Skinny B's" - there was a group of girls looking for support to exercise, eat healthy, lose weight, and just be healthier overall! Anyone is welcome to join! Check in as often as you want - post your goals, AW's, challenges, whatever you want to share!
Come on ladies - who's back on the wagon with me????
Re: Bring the _bitches BACK!!!
can i join as a "maintain" the skinny b? LOL i don't really have weight loss goals, but i have health maintanance goals that are sometimes hard for me to motivate myself to keep....
i ran for 20 mins yesterday! and walked the other 10 (i try to do 30 mins of something at least 3 times a week, but i have been crap about it lately). i wish i enjoyed working out, and i usually do once i motivate myself to get on that treadmill and do it, but...ugh!
Of course you can join us to maintain Lauren (although I may have to hate you b/c you don't need to lose any weight.... kidding of course!)
Annie - I always get off track when I'm sick! That sucks that you gained your weight back, but don't be discouraged! You need calories to fight off the germs!
Oh yeah, so that I have my goals in writing and can't escape - I would like to do 3 days of cardio and 2 days of strength training a week. I really feel like that's a managable amount!
I got on the treadmill this morning - I only did 20 min (I wanted to do 30) but Jenna decided to wake up....
I'm in! Accountability is so good when you're trying to lose weight/get in shape! I don't know how much I need to lose b/c I don't own a scale, but I'll know when I've lost it b/c of the way my pants will fit ;-)
This morning I had a bowl of Special K and took Caleb on a brisk 30 minute walk! Patting myself on the back....lol!
Good for you for knocking the habit!!!! That is wonderful!
Congrats on kicking that habit! I know it is hard! Random, out of left field question about your life post-smoking....but have you had any sinus problems since you quit? My husband quit almost 2 years ago...and he has had relentless sinus and allergy problems ever since.
i would like to join too if that's ok. i don't have a weight loss goal, but i do want to be more active. dh has high bp, and was just diagnosed with a gb problem, and high enzymes in his liver, and i know that some of that is due to the fact that we are not very active together. i teach an aerobics class 1x a week, but i need more variety in my workout routine, and i would like to do more things with dh to motivate him as well. we've been trying to go walking at least 3x a week, and swimming 1x a week, but we need to be more consistent with it.
For a while when I first quit I had sinus problems, but they seem to be better now.
I'm in of course
Oh... and same focus as before... my eating is not the problem, because I can control it when I want to. I just need to pick up my yoga again and do more walking!
I don't need to lose any weight, but I want to make sure I stay in shape. My lifestyle is changing pretty drastically and I don't want to completely lose my fitness. I miss team sports. It definitely gives you a certain level of accountability.
Maybe we could have local get togethers every now and again to do a group walk/run. ?? Just a thought. ?
Yay bitches! LOL
I've been working out w/ a personal trainer 5x a week for a month now and I can certainly tell a difference in the way my body feels. I'm getting stronger plus I can ran more than a mile now (yay!). my husband and I played tennis w/ the trainer yesterday for an hour and 15 minutes which is a great workout and alot of fun! (even though I sucked at it..lol). We're talking about doing that every weekend as long as the weather cooperates and I've been wanting to play for a long time.
As far as eating goes, I think I'm getting better about that. I bough those Fiber One pop tarts that Bethany (I think) posted about the other day and they're actually pretty good. I also bought a small bag of baby carrots so I can start incorperating more veggies in my diet. So I think I'm on the right track!
OMG....I am so in! I need to get this weight off me....pronto!! I have been downstairs looking at my old WW start kit. I need to get my butt back on the program. I have been more active over the past month. I usually walk early in the am with my neighbor. We walk between 1 and 3 miles....three to five times a week. Now I just need to adjust what goes into my mouth...and how often :P
Yay for the Skinny B's
