OK, so as you can see I'm completely new at this.
One question I have... as far as cleaning the stamps, when do you do it? Do you have to clean them off immediately, or do you wait until you're at a stopping point and then clean them?
And... what do you clean them with?
That was more than one question :P
Re: Lauren re:stamping
LOL...that is ok! I am still new at it myself! I can tell you that Meg's cards blow me away...I wish she would come back and share them with y'all...she is amazing!
But...anyway! As to your question, I bought the Stampin' Up Stampin' Scrub (http://bp0.blogger.com/_aKrRM39vu7c/R6kEAdjwaUI/AAAAAAAAAMk/mvLwgHzH2fQ/s1600-h/CleaningProducts.jpgpad) and mist, and I use (and love) that method. I know that Michael's and the other hobby stores sell similar types of products, but I have no idea how they perform in comparison...I am sure they are fine though.
I usually keep my stampin' pad out while I am working and I will clean them up fairly soon after using them...but not like immediately or anything. If I used a really dark ink, I would try and clean them fairly quickly...
Thank you. So far I've just been using a damp washcloth, but I figured there was something better.
And on my last post - I said Amy - but I totally meant Meg. Don't know what I was thinking. I loved her cards that she posted before!
I'm sure I'll have more questions as I go along! Do you do acrylic or rubber stamps? Or both? The ones I saw and bought were acrylic....
LOL....Amy (blondie) has some cards too...she does the hilarious ones. I can't keep up with who all has posted their card work! I don't remember Meg posting...but I know Amy did... LOL. In any case...I love everyone's cards! It is amazing to see how this little craft has exploded for some people on here...and where everyone is taking it!
I so far, have only bought the wood mounted stamps. I was actually looking at some of the clear block stamps this weekend (I guess those are the acrylic ones? LOL). Michael's usually has the blocks on sale for cheap...and it is nice how many designs you can get in the unmounted stamping world....I should get into them too....maybe soon!
I got a 20% of coupon at Michael's yesterday, and I think after I get my money back from the disastrous rug situation....I think I will be using that coupon to buy a Cuttlebug....omg....that little machine is amazing!
Ok, I am just totally confused. LOL. I can't keep people straight. I guess I DID mean Amy - blondewithabug. When you said Meg though, I thought I had them confused. OMG. I am crazy. At any rate, I love everyone's cards. There we go. :P
Yes, the clear ones are the acrylic ones. They were just the first ones that caught my attention...I've gotten a few fonts and some swirlies... they are all really cute.
I need more alphabets in my life.
I have been using that splitcoaststampers.com site to broaden my stamping knowledge...although I don't get on there much. I was really only familiar with Stampin' Up stamps...and although I love them, they are just too pricey. I bought one set off ebay (shhh!) and they actually have good deals on stuff although Stampin Up people are not supposed to sell their stuff there. My set was used however..
I can say that I really love the quality of the Stampin Up cardstock. I use other cardstock, but I have some SU stuff and there is a difference. Even down to the way the ink takes onto the SU paper versus other papers. It is just good stuff.
