Is this odd?

I got an email response from a job that I applied to, found on CL. In the email I got, which was not actually a response to my email, but a separate, new email, there was a link to a survey from an outside marketing group. What I find strange is her email is a Gmail, and nowhere does it say the name of the company.

Am I being paranoid?

I don't think so! If it doesn't seem right, chances are it isn't. That sounds odd to me. It might be a scam to get your personal information.

No reputable survey company uses a gmail address. And why would the company send you a survey instead of responding about the actual job? It's a scam; don't open it and block the sender immediately.

Thanks. It was the hiring company that used the gmail account. The survey itself seems legit, no personal information or anything, just questions about work habits, etc.

My inclination is that the individual might be a recruiter- I mean you can go through the process to as far as you feel comfortable. It might be helpful to get the person on the phone sooner rather than later and ask some questions about the job, company, and hiring process so you can get more clarification.
