Impromtu Welcome Baby gtg ideas
I'd like to put a little something together for this wknd for my SIL who already had her baby. I have some 80's chain link charm favors I had bought for the shower which was canceled, can have a nice cake made saying Welcome to the World, but I need an easy menu/decor ideas to make it festive.
ideas?
thanks!
Re: Impromtu Welcome Baby gtg ideas
Ditto pp....that information would be helpful. Also, are you wanting to do something somewhat easy since it's on such short notice?
If her shower was canceled, is this taking its place? As in, will there be gifts to open? What kind of "festive" are you looking for? Your answer would change my suggestions. For example, if you just want a basic party, start with a color scheme and pick simple things in those colors like balloons, paper plates and cups, grocery store flowers. If you want something a little more involved, pick a broad theme like bears or butterflies or elephants and look for the theme online (and here) to get suggestions.

I would probably do a dessert and champagne thing, simple and festive. Order the cake and maybe add some cupcakes and cookies to the mix for selection. Monogrammed cookies with the baby's initials would be really cute.
It's just 5 people- the new mom, new dad, dh, myself and my 2 yr old niece. They plan to come in the afternoon 2-3pm on Sunday.
Yes, exactly. I invited them over for dinner but since she never had her shower, I thought it might be nice to make our gtg more festive with decor to surprise her.
She is coming over for a regular visit and since she never had her shower, I thought surprising her with some shower details (cake, gifts, balloons etc) would be nice but I only have a few days to put this together. This is all last minute. I will have gifts for her, yes. So if you have any ideas that I can put together fast to make it more fun for her, I'd appreciate it!
Great idea! Love the monogrammed cookie idea- my bakery can definately do that.
So, I'll decorate our table in pastels, get some flowers, champagne, a cake, some cupcakes and monogrammed cookies, will have a few gifts that I'll decorate the table with... I have pastel tool (sp?) that I can decorate the chairs with..... Can pick up some pretty cardstock for simple colorful platemats..
anymore ideas?
