Please recommend a Florida Bed & Breakfast
Hi ladies,
I can't get the search function to work properly. Can anyone recommend a FL bed & breakfast that you loved? We're looking into doing this for our upcoming anniversary. We'd like to stay within 3-4 hours of Orlando. Thanks!
Dana

For the spa, relaxing beach feel this is my favorite: http://whiteorchidinn.com/
For the country, horseback riding, canoeing on the lake, this is my favorite: http://www.equusmeadowinn.com/
I absolutly LOVE staying at bed & breakfasts in St. Augustine. We stayed at Augustin Inn, but there are many other great options there.

We had an amazing time at Casa Coquina in Titusville. 45 min from Orlando, right near Cape Canaveral so you can visit Kennedy Space Center, the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge, etc. It is very small (i think it has 7 rooms, but when we stayed there was only one other couple there) and you get very personalized service. Would highly recommend and is quite affordable too. It is a TRUE bed and breakfast - the housekeeper (can't remember his name off hand) welcomed us when we pulled up and made us breakfast every morning. They used to have complimentary beer and wine in the fridge downstairs and in the upstairs library - now i think its only from 5-7....
they also were great by making recommendations for where to go for dinner, what to do, etc and made all the arrangements/reservations for us!
We loved the Addison! It's in in Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island. It got a lot of nice reviews on Trip Advisor. Lovely house, very relaxing and the innkeepers are awesome.

I agree with the previous posters that St. Augustine is definitely a romantic place for a getaway. I haven't stayed at any of the B&Bs there--we usually go as a day trip--but there are a lot to choose from.
My husband and I recently stayed at a small historic boutique hotel in downtown St. Petersburg, and we really enjoyed it. Not exactly a B&B, but it definitely had a cozy, old-fashioned vibe. The location is on the waterfront downtown, near many of the historic landmarks and museums (not, as a heads-up, anywhere near the beach though). The Web site is http://www.graylshotel.com/.
Whatever you end up choosing, have fun on your trip! :-)
