I really wish I had a friend who would actively exercise with me. I have no motivation to work out and I need to lose weight
. I walk in the afternoon for 35 min. but that is not enough, Any tips?
Re: Need Motivation
Vary your routine. I hate doing the same thing over and over and that's the fastest way for me to lose motivation. You can try a website like Sparkpeople.com or even Glamour (they have a 30 day fitness thing) to figure out other things to do besides walking.
Do you belong to a gym or have you considered taking some classes? That's a great way to meet other people.
Don't give up, though! It's hard and it takes a while for anything to become routine, so you're not alone in your frustration. Good luck!
Same issue, I just had to give myself goals and follow an eating schedule. but its been hard since i have nobody to work out with also. I may have a buddy soon but i dont count on things much.
Personally, joining a gym gives me all the motivation I need. I hate to waste money, so when I pay to join a gym, I go. But you have to be sure the gym is convenient - either near work for lunch time workouts, on the way home from work to hit up before you go home, or near your house so it's easy to access. Also, make sure their hours are compatible with you. If you're a night person and are up til 2 or 3 am and sleep till 11 or 12, don't join a gym that closes at 1 on the weekends. Join a 24 hour gym that you can go to later at night.
Also, I have found that tracking my calories help me. I have an ap on my phone for it. Knowing how many calories I've had in a day already will prevent me from eating cookies or ice cream while I watch tv with DH. I know I'm at what I want to be my limit and I should only eat if I'm really hungry.
i started going to the classes at esac and i really have enjoyed them...and i HATE working out.
maybe give that a try! i think you can go to esac for 3-5 times before committing to a contract.
