Hi Chicago Nesties!
I'll be traveling to the Chicago area for work in a few weeks and wanted to get some recos from the locals. I'll be staying in Northbrook and would love your thoughts on nearby places to eat (lunch and/or dinner). Is there any shopping to do nearby?
Also, I'll have a car but I imagine driving to the city would be pretty horrendous. Is there public transportation from Northbrook area downtown or if I have to drive, any recos on parking? What about places to eat and do downtown if I make it out there?
TIA!
Re: OOTer Needing Recos
Hi Christine!
I used to live in Northbrook a few years ago and there are some decent spots to eat in that area including:
Max & Benny's - awesome NY style deli
Kamehachi - excellent sushi place, same as the one in the city
Francesca's North - part of a local chain in Chicago of really good Italian fare
Not too far is Glenview and there are some good restaurants there as well, which are sister restaurants to ones in the city.
I'm not sure how much time you have to spare and drive to the city, but as Celia mentioned, there is a Metra that takes you right into downtown and even through some great city neighborhoods along the way (ie Lincoln Square/Ravenswood)
