Remember the girl doing BBQ for 75 at her house?
Did she ever post an update? I don't have any idea who she was. Something about her husband's work had obligated them into it and she didn't know any of them. Many of us told her to cater it but she was bound and determined to cook.
Re: Remember the girl doing BBQ for 75 at her house?
No... I don't think she did. There was another post for an event for 100-200 - and she hasn't followed up either.
Can you guys tell I'm on this board almost every day?
I remember that one! I distinctly remember thinking, "Dude, I'm a chef and there's no way in h*ll even I would attempt that at my house."
I remember that too but I don't think she posted an update. I would love to know what happened!
Me too! I used to work in catering and 200 is a big number. Even bathrooms, parking etc. ... and that's a lot of food! I couldn't do it either.
For our rehersal dinner we choose to have a big BBQ at my parents house instead of a small dinner with just the bridal party. We kept it simple with hot dogs, hamburgers and sausages, we also had salads and tons of desserts (which we were still eating a week later!)
We ended up with about 60 people throughout the night, with about 45 people there at any given time. It was a crazy hectic evening but was really fun none the less. A bunch of the men were outside at the BBQs and my mother and sister were helping with everything on the inside. Thankfully it was mostly family though so everyone was confortable jumping in and getting things for themselves.
We all agreed we would do it again, but not the night before a wedding and possibly at a larger house!
