So it's Spirit Week at my school and it all concludes tomorrow with 80's day. Even though none of the students at my school were born then (we only go up to the 8th grade) the school actually came into existence in 1985 so that's why we are going to celebrate all things 80's. I'm planning on rocking out the tight-rolled jeans, scrunched socks, rolled t-shirt sleeves, big hair and serious blue eye shadow. I'll be a walking fashion don't, but it will still be fun.
Because I'm celebrating the 80's I have to ask all of you what fashion trends remind you the most of the 80's?
Re: We've got spirit...
You have some good ones listed, but I also remember wearing 2 pairs of socks, usually bright neon colors, but they were in the opposite order on the other foot.
I also loved slap bracelets and teasing my bangs into a weird arc kind of thing... you know what I mean.
Was tying your t-shirt in a knot on your side cool in late '80s or was that already the early '90s?
I remember all of that stuff too! Plus, the HUGE shoulder pads in everything. Have fun with spirit week!
Side pony tail!
Those black biker shorts with the obnoxious neon stripes down the side. Ugh, and "mad dog" shirts were all the rage here - specifically worn with a t-shirt clip or knotted off to the side.
Oooh, and crimped hair.
Leggings in all sorts of neon colors, slouch socks, long tee shirts, big earrings, and crazy make up
