Anyone have a keurig coffee maker?

Which model do you have and do you like it?

Re: Anyone have a keurig coffee maker?

  • I have a Keurig B60 and adore it.  Fast, no messy cleanup, huge variety of flavor options, great for guests.

  • I LOVE our Keurig machine. We have the Platinum one - super fast and I love that I can brew right into my travel mug for work in the morning.

  • I dont have one BUT I've had coffee from one on two different occasions.

My take--I wasn't crazy about the coffee taste.

-It seems like you HAVE to use their coffee.

-I didn't think I would like that hot water running through that cheap plastic container on a daily basis.

-What do you do for a crowd?

There are about 200 k-cup varieties that all taste very different. You can alter the strength by varying the volume of water.  There is certainly no "one single coffee taste" you get by using a Keurig.

Not true.  The concept is that you use k-cups manufactured specifically for Keurig brewers (hence the simplicity).  You can, however, purchase a refillable insert and grind/use your own beans.

Do you even know at what stage of the brewing process the water gets heated?  I've used "cheap plastic" oh wait $100-200 tea kettles and coffee makers for years and seem to be doing just fine.

It's a single serve coffee maker...

  • Platinum and I LOVE it.  I have convinced several people to buy one I like it so much :)
  • YesOur office got one, with 10 different flavors (it even makes tea and hot cocoa). If you can afford it ... it's AWESOME -- fast, yummy, easy cleanup!

  • We got the B60 for a wedding gift, and we LOVE it.  Neither of us usually drink more than one cup at a time, so it works out a lot better for us than our old coffee maker.

  • I have one and like it quite a bit. I don't drink much coffee so it's nice to be able to do one cup of coffee or tea at a time.

You can use any coffee you want, there's an insert that came with mine, you just put your grounds in it.  I also put tea bags in it to make hot tea for me or ice for DH (I put a cup with ice under the spout, add sugar on top, and brew).   I don't like my coffee brewed at a high temperature b/c I don't like it that hot and b/c it tastes bitter to me if brewed too hot and I've been pleased that I can adjust the temp on the keurig to get it like I want.

  • I have a B60 at home and a red single cup model in my office at work - I love them both. I love all the varieties of k-cups and have even made my own on occasion with the basket they sell (Starbucks doesnt' make k-cups). Several of my friends and family have purchased one since they spent time at my home and I purchased one after a host couple help our small group at church for several months. I found it quite convenient for guests as they can pick what they want - decaf, regular, dark roast, etc. I typically keep some type of variet pack on hand for company and then my favorites as well. I like it because unlike my last coffeemaker there are not 12 parts to clean each time you brew a pot (and my hubby doesn't drink it!).

  • I have the special edition model for the home. I love it for the no clean up and fast brewing. I like that I can have one flavor and dh can have another. We get the k-cups from Bed Bath and Beyond with a coupon or Kohls with a coupon. We also have the cannister to use our own coffee.
