Re: **caden**

  • Thanks Tef! You rock!
  • I missed you asking about that.  What are you looking for, caden?  H seems to know just about every school and what programs they offer.  It's like how some people can recite bizarre sports stats.  I can ask him for you.

Thanks Sibil! That would be great! I haven't decided exactly what I want to do but I'm considering a masters in economics or public policy. If I (by some miracle) get an awesome GRE score I'd go to the Univ. of Michigan (if they accepted me, obviously). Assuming I don't (which is the most likely situation) then I'd either have to go to a smaller local university or an online one. In a post below I asked which was generally better: a tier 4 national university that is ranked in the top 100, or a tier 1 regional university that is ranked in the top 25, but only in its smaller regional category (meaning, it's not listed in any national ranking list that I can find). Any insight you have would be great!?

  • I know for sure that H has looked into online masters and PhD programs in those fields, so I'll ask him at lunch what he thinks.  Is an international school ok by you?  I seem to recall him talking about some international school that was like some economic public policy thing.

Yup international schools are totally ok. Thanks again : )?

  • His first response was to immediately say that Georgia Southern has the only online economics program.  It's in applied econ which may actually be more what you're looking for.  Less hardcore econ and more merging with the policy side apparently.

I've opened a can of worms, though, b/c he's probably going to spend all afternoon looking up programs ostemsibly for you but really just so he can have an excuse.  Seriously, he'll spend entire weekends looking at different educational programs and looking for jobs that use them.  He's a weirdo :)

  • I think I love your husband!

Thank you! Applied Econ is definitely more up my alley. The only program on that subject in my area is at the Univ of Michigan, which I'm thinking I won't get into. The other ones I've found are general econ and "financial economics" (I don't even really know what that is).

If he has any more advice I'd be glad to hear it. Thanks again!
