ugh, I'm a moron

I ordered the wrong size windows. I meant to order ones that had a rough opening of 24x54 and 24x54 size windows got ordered instead, and hey didn't fit! I don't know if it's my fault, dh's for letting me order them, or the dude at Lowe's who should have asked me if I meant window size or rough opening. Thank God we still had one correct size window sitting in the garage we were able to put in. We would have been so screwed and would have had a huge hole in our wall for the next few weeks where a window should have been.

We are going to Lowe's tomorrow afternoon to try and return the windows that are the wrong size and order the correct size ones. I just hope they don't give us any trouble trying to return them.

 

Update: We were able to return the windows, but they didn't seem to happy about it, we had to talk to the store manager and the guy who ordered them. Basically, they took them back because even though they were custom windows they were a window size and style that is ordered fairly often, so they'll be able to resell them. We won't get the correct size windows for about 3 more weeks though, so we just have to hope for some nice weather in mid October. The good news in all of this is that windows were 10% off this week, so we got about $85 back.
