Hi ladies!

I just thought I would drop a quick note and say hello.  I still check here and the bump board just to stay up-to-date with everyone.  I never post because well I just don't feel like I have anything to add.

I have made it to NC.  I have been her for almost 4 months.  I got a job and I think I like it for the most part.  I miss NY though.  Down here its so hot and busy... up there I was bored to tears, down here I feel like I am being pulled in 100 different directions because of all the friends and family I have...I guess thats a good thing.

I can't believe I have been a widow for over 9 months now.  I can't believe I am a widow at all.  I miss Mike like crazy and time does NOT make it any easier.  There are still some days I say to myself "I can't believe he is really gone".  I feel so lost.  I am changing my mind about things every other day.  I don't feel like I belong anywhere.  My life basically revolved around Mike for the last 11 years and now....

I guess I have a bit of good news to share.  I am buying a house!  I close in 3 weeks.  I am hoping this will help me feel more grounded but the truth is nothing will bring him back- I just have to keep going forward.

People are asking me if I am ready to date- um no.  I still wear my wedding ring, I still feel married if that makes any sense.  I like for people to talk about Mike.  The last thing I want is for people to tip-toe around me but I can't fault them for that... I would probably do the same thing.

Well I just wanted to say hi.  I know I have a lot of yall on my facebook but I hardly comment on anyone's status updates because if I do I get a notification on my blackberry when everyone else comments and well that just gets annoying (I havent figured out how to turn it off).

Talk to you gals later xoxo

Re: Hi ladies!

  • It's so nice to hear from you!  I'm glad you are getting settled down in NC and that is awesome about the house.  Have fun decorating and making it your own.  Mike may not be physically with you but I believe he lives on in your heart and he must be very proud of you.

  • Thanks for writing!  I've been thinking about you and wondering how you are doing so it's great to hear from you.

Congratulations on buying a house!  I'm really glad that you are busy and have lots of friends and family to keep you company.  I always would rather be busy than bored.

Keep in touch and please comment on the boards - it took me a while to post again when I was going through rough times so I understand.  We are here for you anytime!

  • Hi C!  It made me so happy to see your name!  Congratulations on the house.  I can't begin to imagine the emotions that you feel, but do know that you have a great group of Upstate girls thinking of you and wishing only the best for you.  Take care and keep in touch!

  • Hey girl!  :-)

Glad to see you around!  That's awesome about the house, next time I visit my sister in Charlotte maybe I'll swing up to the Raleigh area.  They have a nice art museum there, too.  Good luck at closing!

Mike was so lucky to have you in his life, and vice versa.   I think the greatest compliment to him as how well you loved each other.  I can't imagine how hard it's been, but you truly seem to have handled everything as well as possible.

BTW, how is Miss Pixie?  And let us know if you come up to visit, we'll plan a GTG at Panzari's!
