Zumba story on Bham CBS News!
The Nestie Zumba teacher isn't from Birmingham, is she? I can't remember who she is... :-/
Re: Zumba story on Bham CBS News!
yay, i just love that zumba is getting so much attention! i love it (but of course i am bias b/c i teach it - lol)!!!!
eta: i just re-read the original post - sry it's too early in the morning!! i'm up in HSV, sry. i'm actually not sure if there is a zumba class/instructor in b'ham. you may be able to check out the zumba website (www.zumba.com) there is a class locator available. or i can try to find out for you if there is one in the area.
you know i think we should have a stamping/zumba party one weekend!!!!!
Hey girl,
I teach every Sat at the HH wellness center in madison from 1130-1230. i also teach sometimes at uah and prsm (over at bailey cove). where do you take it?
girl, i know you teach a class Sat morning, but any time you wanna come to a class, just let me know and I'll make it happen!! and Leah that invitation is open to you too!!
What time? I've got class at 10 a.m. Oh and where? Darn Body Pump is screwing me out of hip hop and possibly Zumba.
LOL, yea i know the feeling. school is screwing me out of zumba-ing more!
i teach at 1130 at the madison wellness center. i know that's alot of aerobics for a Sat morning, but just let me know whenever you do want to go. and i have got to get out to one of your bodypump classes!
I'm going to tenatively say I'll be there. It requires me getting out of Body Pump speedily but I really want to give it a try! I'll let you know closer to time.
Hey Leah-- I could pick you up and we could Body Pump then head to Zumba. How 'bout it?
I take it at Riviera. I would LOVE to come to one of your classes! Jess and I will make that happen.
Sounds like a plan! Just let me know which Saturday. This Saturday is good for me.
I found Zumba in Prattville. How strenuous is it? Can someone with a lot of joint problems expect to be able to do it? I think I would love it. I loved dancercise way back in the 80's.
o ok. i know a couple of the zumba instructors over at riviera. who do you take it with?
can't wait to have you ladies in class!
zumba is intended to be for everyone, which is why i love it so much!! in my class i always ask who the newbies are so that i can give them the drill. and i pretty much tell them that the way that i teach the class, and that if there is ever any move that i am doing that they don't like for whatever reason, they are always welcome to modify it. i also give a lot of options for certain songs so that no one feels obligated to do what i am doing. but most importantly to me i just want everyone to relax and have fun, so that is what i try to promote.
I'm pretty sure this Saturday is good for me as well. I'll just make sure Rick hasn't planned anthing around then.
Camille is our regular teacher, and Tasha subs for us. I looooove Tasha and I wish she was there more often.
i'm actually good friends with tasha!! i love her too. i started taking zumba with her at uah. i try to go to her mon night classes over at uah, but this semester school got in the way. i've taken quite a few songs from her! no one can do it like tasha though.
eta: do camille and tasha teach differently? i learned my format from tasha, so i teach similar to her. how does camile teach?
jessica,
do you teach bodypump tonight at cosmo?
I am SO jealous of this convo. I SO want to take this but the only place in AU is at the HealthPlus gym and its $50/mo for the membership. I gave up the gym and have been doing the workout videos b/c it was expensive to keep the membership for just me.
Tiffany - I see they have DVD's - do you have those or do you rec'd them?!!?!?
i know how you feel. it's hard esp when a gym makes you sign a contract before you can take classes. the gyms i teach at have a day pass, but sometimes that can get pricey too.
i have the original dvds, but the live class is SO much better. i know that they just came out with a newer dvd set, which i heard is much better. but i've never seen it.
Yeah, and those DVD's are pricey too!!! ugh, I would love to take this class as a former dancer....... I know I would LOVE it. My mom takes it and loves it.
Yes, they teach it completelt different! Camille doesn't talk AT ALL during class. You just kinda have to watch her and follow along as best you can. Tasha's class has?a little more hip hop?than Camille's too. I like them both, but I perfer Tasha.ah, ok. yep that is very different. i cue a lot to make sure that everyone is following. i think it would be hard (for people who are new to zumba) to follow along if you weren't cueing. i need to try and get in to take camille's class. tasha told me that she was a fabulous dancer. well i can't wait to have you and jess in my class on Sat. if you have had tasha for zumba, you will probably already know a couple of the songs i am going to do.
