Southside 35W Drivers

So well driving home this afternoon from parents house in Lakeville I saw this new sign in Burnsville on Northbound 35W. I know the speed limit is 65mph in this area but what dose the 60mph part mean? Dose that lane have a slower speed limit because of all the on & off ramps? I have only noticed this sign once or twice before but would really love to know what it means.

Re: Southside 35W Drivers

  • I believe it is something with the flow of traffic. I go that way daily and when traffic is heavier it will say 60, 45, etc. It is not always on so I am not sure, but I have also wondered that.

  • I've seen that too, and once in a while on 35W northbound between 494 and 62.  It seems silly, if traffic is slow you have to go slow, there shouldn't be an ever changing speed limit.  I've been ignoring it Embarrassed
  • it said 55 when i drove up at 7:45 this morning.
