Buying airline tickets

When do you find the cheapest airline tickets for Thanksgiving and Christmas?  Should I buy them now or later?  We live on the west coast and are going to the east coast.  Right now, the cheapest is about $400 per ticket.

Re: Buying airline tickets

  • I would try priceline... they have the name your price thing. Although, as long as you don't mind to stop in every state and hae lay-overs.... but, if it keeps you in your budget...

  • I can never really find cheap tickets for the holiday season if it is beyond the end of September. We found some from the Midwest to South for less than $300. We looked at Kayak.

  • I'm looking for tickets from east coast to the west for my brother and we're having the same problem.  In the past, priceline has worked well.
  • If you have an @edu e-mail, you can use www.studentuniverse.com

They have cheap(er) tickets for students, so they can get home for the holidays. Sometimes you need 2 one-way tickets, though.
